Alan Carson

Mr. Alan Jay Carson, age 66, of Experiment, formerly of Acosta, PA, passed away June 30, 2022, from a short battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Emlenton, PA, son of the late Norman David Carson, Sr. and Mary Ellen Purbough-Pritts Boden.

In 1975, Alan graduated from Rockwood High School in Somerset County, PA, then joined the United States Army at the age of 19. After being discharged from the military, Alan started traveling. He walked through all 49 contiguous states, mowing grass and taking odd jobs to support himself.  In 1980, he settled in Houston, TX and started a successful lawn care business. He moved back to Georgia in 1985, and worked at Boggs Construction Company, where he eventually retired. In recent years, he had a booth at Sweetie's Flea Market in Hampton.  Alan, also known as "Yankee" was a people person who loved spending time with his family, especially his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Mae Myers Carson, infant sister, Sarah Ann Boden of Acosta, brother, Norman David Carson, Jr. of Acosta, son, Ernie, and son-in-law, Kenneth Flournoy.

He is survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law: Jodi and David O'Neal of Molena, Hope and Brian Cochran of Griffin and Alisa Carson of Griffin; children: Peggy Flournoy, Loretta Pate (Michael W. Clark, Jr.) and Pamela Pearson (Shaun Childres); grandchildren: Samantha Nipper, Johnny Flournoy, Andrew Hand, Kevin Hand, Summer Pearson, Brittany Childres, Damian Childres, and Reana Pearson Kurasaka; great-grandchildren: Wesley, Kameron, Athena, Gabrielle, Abigail and Carson; many nieces and nephews.

A family memorial service will be held.
