April Huckaby

April Huckaby, a deeply loved mother and friend, passed away leaving behind a legacy of unconditional love, unwavering strength, and a heart that touched everyone she met.

April's greatest joy in life was being a mother to her beloved son, Zaine Huckaby, who was her pride and her heart. She also shined in her role as "Gigi" to Izabella Brown and Izaiah Brown — a role she cherished deeply and filled with laughter, warmth, and boundless affection.

April had a soft spot for animals, especially her loyal dog, Lilly, who never left her side. She found joy in the simple things — a cold Diet Coke, the comfort of her pets, and days spent near the sea. The beach was her happy place, a peaceful escape where she felt most at home.

She was the kind of woman who lit up any room she entered. April was loved fiercely by her family and by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her spirit, kindness, and humor made the world brighter. She truly was worth more than what the world could ever give in return.

April's presence will be missed beyond words, but her love will live on in every heart she touched.

She is survived by her son: Zaine Huckaby; brothers and sisters: William L. "Buster" Huckaby, Jr. (Laura), Pamela Huckaby Bell, Michael S. Huckaby (Laurie) and Leigh Leslie (Shane); nieces and nephews: Isaiah, Isabella, Jordan, Whitney, Brittany and Alexis: aunt: Glenda Huckaby.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, June 21, 2025, from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., at the funeral home.

A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m., in Fincher Memorial Cemetery in Meansville.
