Betty Carroll

Mrs. Betty Jean Jones Carroll, age 87, of Eatonton, passed away April 3, 2024, at her home. She was born in Woodbury, daughter of the late Joseph Jasper Jones and Mary Kate Stephens Jones.  She was a manager of One Hour Martinizing for 30 years before retiring.  Betty loved living on Lake Oconee, rocking on her back porch, overlooking the water, and watching her grandchildren play in the yard.  She was the caretaker for the family and a bright light to everyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Jo Matthews, her brothers, Bryant Jones, J. P. Jones and Bill Jones.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years: John Thomas Carroll, Sr.; children: John Carroll, Jr., Becky Childree (Jim Webb), and Debbie Fuhr (Chris); grandchildren: Melisa, Cindy, Keith, Tommy, Sean and Tori; great-grandchildren: Kayla, David, Patricia, Jacklynn, Matthew, Ashley, Drew, Ashton, Kate, Ethan, Mikal and Heaven; great-great-grandchildren: Jace and Emberly′Marie; special niece: Karen Jean; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Woodbury City Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
