Billy Thomas Bridges

Mr. Billy Thomas Bridges II, age 67, of Thomaston, passed away January 12, 2024, at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta.  Billy was born in Cedartown, son of the late Billy Thomas Bridges and Rilla Kelley Bridges.  His family moved to the Lakewood area south of Atlanta where Billy graduated from South Fulton High School. He was skilled and knowledgeable in many areas, residential and commercial construction, paint and autobody, and jewelry. He was a gentle soul, who was kind and generous and always tried to please others. Billy was a long-time member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cedartown.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Stevens Bridges, niece, Mary Lee Gray, nephew, Joshua Bridges and brother-in-law, Leroy Versemann.

He is survived by his sister: Alice Versemann of Thomaston; brother: Barry Bridges of Mauk; nieces and nephews: John Versemann, Jacob Bridges, Adelyn Bishoff, Aldyn Walker, Amanda Corbin, Travis Foster, Sarah Riggio and Jesse Foster.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2 p.m., in Greenwood Cemetery in Cedartown with Pastor Bryan McPherson officating.
