Mr. Robert Anderson Lummus, Jr., known to everyone as Bob, passed away August 11, 2026, at his home. Bob was born in Porterdale, son of the late Robert Anderson Lummus, Sr. and the late Helen Johnson Lummus. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army in Germany, where he proudly served for four years as an artillery specialist. He served with the Cities of Conyers, Mansfield, Jackson and Hampton, as well as the Pike County Sheriff’s Department. He retired in 2010 from the City of Zebulon, where he served as Sergeant and Chief of Police.
Bob enjoyed woodworking, collecting guns, knives and black bears, and taking trips to the mountains, especially Helen. He was an avid Star Trek fan and never missed an episode of In the Heat of the Night. Bob was a kind and caring man who loved his family dearly and treasured the time he spent with them.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Christopher Adam Lummus and Timothy Michael Lummus.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years: Juanita Lummus; children: Jeff Lummus (Dawn), Brandon Lummus (Kristy), Kasey Perkins (Steven), Josh Hardy, Timothy Hardy (Amy), Andrew Lummus (Emily) Brandy Holloway and Liz and Rodney Bell; grandchildren: Cameron, Nikki, Bryana, Zane, Morgan, Rossie, Katie, Dixie, Christopher, Jackson, Marissa, Tristan, Katilynn (Zachary R) Benjamin, Rachel, Riley (Wyatt), Destaney, Hailey, Oaklynn, Dakota, Carley, Madalynn, Kacie, Audrey, Elias, Tamara and Crystal; and great-grandchildren.
