Bruce E. Moore, Sr.

Bruce E. Moore, Sr., age 70, of Milner, passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 after a brief illness.  Bruce was born in Kanawha County, West Virginia on July 12, 1951 to Brooks Moore and Glenna (Parcell) Moore.  He owned his own electric business for many years and was an expert at fixing anything.

Bruce was an avid car enthusiast, and he was particularly fond of '59 Chevrolets, old pick-up trucks, and corvettes.  He restored many cars over the years.  He enjoyed spending time with his son, Bruce Moore, Jr., and the two loved to attend races together.  Bruce Sr. and Bruce Jr. were not only father and son, but best friends as well.

In 1995, Bruce married his soul mate, Bonnie.  Bruce and Bonnie had a long and very happy marriage.  Bruce was a wonderful husband who doted on his wife, and always made sure she felt loved, secure, and happy.  Bonnie adored Bruce as well, and loved to cook for him & care for him.  The two loved to travel together, sometimes getting in the truck without any set destination.  They loved going to Foley, Alabama for boating excursions with friends.

When Bruce married Bonnie, he became a stepfather to Bonnie's two daughters, Erica and Stacey.  He loved his stepdaughters like they were his own, and he did his best to ensure their happiness and well-being.

When Bonnie's sister died very young with two daughters, Jennifer Smith and Danielle Beckham, Bruce welcomed them both into the home to raise with Bonnie.

Bruce had many friends and made more friends wherever he went.  He loved to joke around and put a smile on everyone's face, even during troubling times.  His friends are deeply saddened by the loss of Bruce, and everyone who knew him will miss him greatly.

Bruce was predeceased by his parents, and his sister, Sharon Parker, and brother, Elton Moore.

Bruce is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Bennett) Moore, son, Bruce (Lisa) Moore, Jr., daughters, Erica (Sam) Thorington, Stacey (Clay) Blankenship; grandchildren, Chris (April) Moore, Jake Moore, Drake Thorington, Korbyn Thorington, Liam Blankenship, Anzlee Blankenship, Cody Royals, Ali Gregg,  and Graham Gregg; brother-in-law: Dennis (Tina) Bennett; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday, August 29, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Moody-Daniel.  Bruce's good friend, Pastor Daniel McKinley, will officiate.  Although masks are not required, the family strongly encourages them for the services.
