Carolyn King

Ms. Carolyn May Specht King, of Concord, passed away May 27, 2022, at her home.  She was born in Laurel, Maryland, and was raised by her grandparents, the late Irvin and Agnes Specht. Carolyn earned her Bachelor's degree in Accounting from the University of Maryland. She moved to Concord in 1993. She enjoyed her job as a caregiver. Carolyn loved collecting dolls and teapots, gardening, sewing, and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She had been a member of Friendship Presbyterian Church in Concord for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Thomas Specht, Sr. and Ellen Dora Specht, her son, Ronald King, and her sister, Jackie Shires.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Roger and Kristen King, and Randy and Audrey King; daughter: Regina King; grandchildren: Kacey, Megan, Randall Jr., Zachary, Christopher, Samantha, Sarah, Phillip, Faith, Dylan and Ronnie; sisters: Evelyn Specht, and Millie Mills; brother: John Specht, Jr.; her partner-in-crime: Bennie Kempson; many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 2, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Friendship Presbyterian Church Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
