Darlene Kelley

Mrs. Rebecca Darlene Holcomb Kelley, age 65, passed away August 31, 2021. Darlene grew up in Greenville, SC, daughter of the late James Holcomb and Mildred Bridges Holcomb.  It was in Greenville where she met and married Jim Kelley. Darlene was a homemaker who devoted her life to her husband and her children, but it was her grandchildren who were the light of her life. Even though she was only 4" 11", she had no fear when it came to looking after her family. Darlene had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandson, K. P. Nance, sister Ginny B., her nephew Ricky Thomas and her great-nephew BamBam.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years: Jim Kelley; daughters and sons-in-law: Michelle and Marcus Rivers, Misty and Kevin Jones and Jessica Kelley (originally known as the virus); grandchildren: Meagan Jones, Kellianne Nance, Rowdy Waylon and Rylan Drake; sisters: Carolyn Nyman and Theresa Patterson; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 4, at 4:00 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, 3:00 – 4:00 p.m., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Moody-Daniel Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
