Mr. David Buel Collier, age 64, of Zebulon, passed away April 30, 2022. He grew up in Griffin, son of the late Buel Collier and Frances Adams Collier. David was a diesel mechanic and worked for Overnight Transport and Advanced Disposal. In his younger years, he enjoyed snow skiing and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He and Elaine participated in many benefit rides. David was a hard worker, adventurous, and stubborn. He was a good friend to many and a very caring man who deeply loved his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sandra Elaine Chambley Collier, sons, Kimbo Brown and Chad Brown, sister, Sherry Head, brother, Jimmy Thomas, Jr.
He is survived by his grandchildren: Chase Brown, Weston Brown and Baybe Jewl Bennett and their mother, Stacy Bennett; great-granddaughter: Mila Rain; sister: Kay Taylor; former wife: Kathy Rakestraw and step-son Andy Nichols; friend and caregiver: Carmen Selby; several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, May 3, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 4, 1 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. A family burial will be held in Griffin Memorial Gardens.
