David R. Hamby

Mr. David Reginald Hamby, age 73, of Thomaston, passed away May 18, 2025.  David grew up in Thomaston, son of the late Virgil Hamby and Mary Wood Hamby.  After graduating from R. E. Lee School, he earned his teaching degree and taught Social Studies at Spalding High School for many years before retiring.  He loved all animals and raised goats and chicken.

He is survived by his wife: Georgia Hamby; step-children: Tersa Miniclier (Jack) and Jimmy Barber, Jr.; brothers and a sister: Gary Hamby (Jan), Danny Hamby (Sally); Don Hamby (Jackie) and Kathy Hamby; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

An immediate family service will be held.
