Mr. Jerry Dean Godfrey, age 64, of Meansville, passed away May 12, 2022, at his home. He grew up in Riverdale, son of the late Buster Brown Godfrey and Dora Estelle Jennings Godfrey. Dean was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He worked as a paramedic and a mobile welder for many years and enjoyed camping and fishing. Dean was a jokester, and a loving and good God-fearing man.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janie Evelyn Godfrey McCall and a brother, John Ernest Godfrey.
He is survived by his niece: Toletta Kendrick (Robby); great niece and nephews: Amy Jan-Dora White, Michael Anthony Younginer (Holly), Mark Allan Younginer, Jr. (Sharon), Shelly Stevens (Matthew) and Shane Godfrey (Pam); great-great-nieces and nephews: Isabella White, Luke Craven, Megan, Major, Molly and Macoy Younginer; Conner, Ryan and Ethan Younginer; great-great-great-nephew: Grayson; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 15, 2:30 p.m., at New Life Assembly of God Church, 1630 Zebulon Road, Griffin.
Friends may visit the family before the service, from 2:00 to 2:30 p.m., and again after the service at the church.
