Deardra "Dee" June Lowrance Cheek, age 76, of Molena, Georgia, passed away April 1, 2023, at her home. She was born in Miami, Florida, the oldest of four children, and daughter of the late Andrew Boyd Lowrance and the late Emily Grace Evans Lowrance. Deardra was a first and third grade teacher. She began her career in education in Meriwether County, then Kilpatrick Elementary School in Jonesboro, and retired from the Spalding County School System. She enjoyed teaching so much that she volunteered even after retirement. She enjoyed flower gardening, photography, trips to the beach, spoiling her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, socializing with everyone and lively discussions with her brother. She was a very loving and kind person to everyone.
Dee was an active Christian, teaching Sunday School and Vacation Bible School, and was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Molena.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Sharron Lowrance.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years: Daniel "Dan" Webster Cheek, Jr.; son: Daniel "Danny" Webster Cheek III (Lisa).
She was affectionately called "Annie" by her three grandchildren: Tyler Cheek, Brylee Googe-Cheek, and London Cheek.
Deardra is also survived by a sister: Diane Soroko; brother: Charlie Lowrance (Arlis); sister-in-law: Susan Cheek; brother-in-law: George Cheek; and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.
