Deborah Nixon

Ms. Deborah Darlene Wainwright Nixon, age 72, of Thomaston, passed away March 2, 2026. Deborah grew up in Thomaston and graduated from Upson High School.  She worked hard all her life. In her early years, she worked for William Carter Company until they closed and then took a job as the apartment manager for Timber Falls in Thomaston. She was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church in Thomaston. Deborah was an excellent artist and enjoyed painting, tending to her garden, fishing on the Flint River and especially spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Boyd Jones, Jr. and Troy Nixon, Jr. and her brother, Timmie Wainwright.

She is survived by her daughters; Amber Jones and Crystal Jones; step-children: Amanda Thiel (Ben), Kelli Nixon (David Frasier), and Tamera Burdett (Bobby); grandchildren: Jaycee Avery, Summer Nixon, Mathias Thiel, Dana Carroll (Jamie), Becky Broughton (David), Trey Burdette (Kaetlin), Kamryn Bevel, Wehndi Pitts, and Abbee Pitts; sister: Katrina Parham (Keith); her beloved puppy and companion: Baby Girl; 10 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Deborah's life will be held at Shiloh Baptist Church in Thomaston, GA on Sunday, April 12, 2026, at 2 p.m.
