Debra Johnston

Debra Annette Turner Johnston, age 65, of Thomaston, passed away March 25, 2024, at Upson Regional Medical Center.  Debra grew up in Griffin, daughter of the late Hoke and Margaret Turner.  She worked in several local textile mills for 30 years, including Thomaston Mills and William Carter Company. She liked to sew and crochet. Debra was also a homemaker and enjoyed living a simple life spending time with her family, children, and grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her boyfriend of 20 years, Wayne Blackmon, son, Joey Delzell, sisters and brothers, Sandra, Dale, David, Darlene and Robert.

She is survived by her sons: Robert Delzell of TN, and Chuck Delzell (Mirasol) of Thomaston. Wayne's children: Alan Blackmon (Tonya), Jeanie Langford (Steve) and Misty Patrick (Aaron); grandchildren: Manuel, Michael, Christina,Trinity, seven more grandchildren, seven more great-grandchildren and seven of Wayne's grandchildren and seven of his great-grandchildren; twin brother: Donny Turner (Kim); and several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.
