Donald Bohannon

Mr. Donald Charles Bohannon, age 78, of Yatesville, passed away September 8, 2023, at Upson Regional Medical Center.  He grew up in Cartersville, son of the late Carl and Lorene Bohannon. In his early career, Donald worked at Lockheed in Marietta, then for Southern Railroad where he was a conductor, and retired from GA Power.  He and his wife, Carol, have lived in Yatesville for the last 40 years.  Donald liked hunting, fishing, farming, gardening, and riding his tractor. He was a good-hearted man who enjoyed helping others and watching them have a good time.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters-in-law, Tammy Groce and Barbara Johnson.

He is survived by his wife: Carol Bohannon; children: Chuck Bohannon and Dana Lebkisher; brother:  Larry Bohannon; brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Perry and Carol Johnson, Barry Johnson and Keith Johnson; special family friend and "adoptive son": Steve Cabeza; several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Pitts officiating.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
