Donna M. Wooten

Donna Marie Wooten, born Donna Marie Pope on August 3, 1952, was a woman whose greatest accomplishments were not measured by a career or worldly possessions, but by the life she built, the love she shared, and the family she cherished beyond measure.

Born to Clarence Ossie Pope and Ruby Mae Adams-Skinner, Donna was the baby of the family, growing up alongside her older siblings, Bobby Pope (Harriett), Evelyn Head (Billy), and Larry Pope (Dean).

Donna met Larry William Wooten while they were still in school, and what began as young love became a lifetime love story. They were two young people with humble beginnings, little to their names, and big dreams for the future. Through hard work, determination, and an unwavering devotion to one another, they built a beautiful life together. Their story was proof that you don't need to start with much to build something extraordinary when you have the right person beside you.

Donna briefly worked for AAFES at Fort Gillem before finding her calling with Delta Air Lines. It wasn't long before she and Larry discovered a shared love of travel. Together, they made memories in places like Hawaii, Las Vegas, and Aruba, returning to their favorite destinations often. They enjoyed seeing the world, but wherever they went, the greatest part of the journey was having each other.

Donna leaves behind her beloved husband of 57 years, Larry William Wooten, and their two daughters, Tammy (Jody) Pope and Brandy (Jeremy) Adams. Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Lindsey (James Jones), Bethany (Devon) Adams, Koleman (Amanda) Evans, Kyleigh (Josh) Brown, and Kennedy Evans, Evan Adams and Garrett Adams.

But perhaps one of Donna's most treasured titles was that of "Nonna." There wasn't a birthday, anniversary, graduation, or milestone too small for her to celebrate. She never missed an opportunity to remind those she loved that she was thinking of them. Her cards arrived faithfully, often anticipated and always recognizable by her unmistakably beautiful handwriting. Those handwritten notes were more than just greetings; they were little reminders that someone loved you, remembered you, and was cheering you on.

Her family continued to grow, and so did her joy. Donna was adored by her ever-growing family of great-grandchildren, who now number 14 precious souls. They were the newest branches of a family tree she helped build, and each one held a special place in her heart.

Donna's legacy is woven into the lives of the people she loved: in a marriage that began with two young hearts and lasted 57 years, in daughters who will forever carry pieces of their Mama with them, in grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will grow up hearing her stories, and in the countless little ways she made sure her family knew they mattered.

She leaves behind a lifetime of memories, a family bound together by love, and a love story that will continue to be told for generations.
