Dorton Smith

Mr. Dorton Smith, age 79, of Griffin, passed away July 4, 2025, at his residence.  Dorton was born in Spalding County to the late Zenas and Melba Dorton Smith.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carole Wallace Smith, sons, Jason Smith and Marty Smith, grandchildren, Johnathan and Marianna Pitts, brothers, Larry, Richard and Leon Smith.

He is survived by his daughter: Marie Smith; grandchildren: Jacob Pitts, Bailey Smith, Parker Smith, Christy (Eric) Thompson, Roy (Lara) Smith and Crystal (Chad) James; nine great-grandchildren; sister: Glenda Ward; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Shirley Smith, John (Heidi) Wallace, Sheila (Randy) Goen and Beth (Roger) McDavid; numerous nieces and nephews.

It was Dorton's wish to be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.
