Doyle Brookshire

Doyle Lee Brookshire, 67, was called home Monday, January 26, 2026 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Born on March 12, 1958 in Atlanta, GA, to the late Winfred Willis Brookshire and Reba Adamson Brookshire.

Doyle is survived by his family, Brandy and Brian Williamson, Mandy and Tony Lindow, James and Anne Brookshire, and grandchildren Destiny, Aubrey, Alex, Hunter and Klaudia Williamson, Gage and Miranda Bottoms, Ethan and Jared Lindow, and great-grandchildren Myles, Jupiter and Weston.

In addition to his parents, Doyle is preceded in death by his half-brother, Joe Brookshire and half-sister, Elizabeth Brookshire Arnold and great granddaughter, Haven Abigale Rayne.

Doyle's life was defined by service, sacrifice, and unwavering care for others. He dedicated 29 years of service to the Clayton County Water Authority and also served as a volunteer firefighter for more than 35 years in Fayette, Henry, Pike, and Monroe counties. In addition, he generously gave countless hours volunteering at the Rock Springs Church Clinic, always eager to help those in need.

Doyle found joy in God's creation and the simple blessings of life. He loved exploring the outdoors, fishing, camping, woodworking, growing plants, and spending time with family and friends. He was a natural tinkerer who enjoyed fixing things, and he carried a lifelong love for music that began in early childhood. Ever curious, he was known for diving into genealogy research and—true to his adventurous spirit—never met a "get-rich-quick" idea online he wouldn't at least explore.

A gentle giant, Doyle had a tough exterior but the most tender and loving heart. That tenderness was especially evident in his love for his family, particularly his two daughters, of whom he was immensely proud of. He was a husband (a few times), grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, father-in-law, and a loyal friend. He was also a man of strong convictions who never hesitated to share his thoughts, doing so with honesty, humor, and a sincere heart.

Hardworking and full of energy, Doyle was rarely one to sit still. He always found something to do—whether it was heading down a rabbit hole of a good conspiracy theory or answering a phone call from someone who needed help. He was happiest when serving others and did so generously, quietly, and without expectation of recognition. His life reflects a servant's heart. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the enduring example of selfless service he leaves behind.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.  Burial will frollow in Mars Hill Cemetery in Acworth.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, January 30, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
