Duane Douglas Armistead

Mr. Duane Douglas Armistead, age 53, of Zebulon, passed away July 2, 2023.  He grew up in Williamson and graduated from Pike County High School in 1988.  Duane was a carpenter and loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, woodworking, and searching for arrowheads. He was an outgoing person who never met a stranger and was always helping others. He never asked for anything in return.  His laugh was contagious, and he always left an impression on everyone he met.  He was a talented builder, whether it was a deck or a simple box, it was always from his heart.

Duane was preceded in death by his father, Douglas Crawford Armistead.

He is survived by his wife:  Denise Nix Armistead; children:  Dylan Armistead, Lakeitha Pierce (David), Dusty Dunbar, and Corey Dunbar (Holly); mother: Dianne Armistead; sister: Deidre Holloway; brother: Mike Armistead; grandchildren: Tyler Pierce, Eli Dunbar, and Ellie Dunbar; niece: Kaydee Boswell (Thomas); great-nieces: Gracie and Olivia; and many cousins.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, July 5, 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., at the funeral home.  A memorial service will follow at 4 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Rocky Stubbs officiating.
