Elaine P. Dumas

Elaine Pilkenton Dumas, age 76, of Molena, passed away August 17, 2022.

Elaine was born on November 19, 1945, to the late Monroe and Carolyn Pilkenton. She was raised in Molena, Georgia, where she spent all her life. She worked more than 32 years as a lab technician for the William Carter Company. Elaine spent another 10 years working in the lunchroom of Pike County High School. She adored the school children and was known to come to their sporting events to cheer them on. Elaine enjoyed wrestling and was a big fan of WWE. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church where she came to know Jesus. Elaine was always there for her family. She was a wonderful mother and an even better Nana to her beloved grandchildren.

Along with her parents, Elaine was preceded in death by husband, Harold Lee Dumas, brother, Wayne Pilkenton, and nephew, Rob Pilkenton.

She is survived by her daughters: Kelly Dumas and Kimberly Pryor, both of Pike County; stepson: Richard Dumas of Stockbridge; grandchildren: Jackson Stowell, Aiden Pryor and Aubree Pryor; sister: Carol Pettis of Molena; brother: Bob Pilkenton of Thomaston; nephews: Brent (Kaleigh) Pilkenton of Griffin, Lee (Samantha) Pilkenton of Thomaston, Brandon and Austin Pettis, both of Molena.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Molena. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Elaine will be taken to the church 30 minutes prior to the service to lie-in-state. Friends may visit the family between 4 PM and 6 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
