Eleanor Wilson

Mrs. Eleanor Davis Wilson, age 87, of Pike County, passed away July 8, 2022, at her home.  She was born in Zebulon, daughter of the late Ira E. Davis and Sarah E. Green Davis. Mrs. Wilson grew up in the Neal Community in Concord, attended Pike County Schools, and was a long-time member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church. She worked for Bellsouth for many years, retiring as a Facility Technician.  Mrs. Wilson was the first woman in the area to do outside cable repair for Bellsouth, which included climbing poles. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, and coloring on her phone app.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Harvey Weyman Wilson; sons: Terry Wilson and Chip Wilson; grandson: Ryan Wilson, sisters: Mary D. Ballard, Opal D. Holston, Juanita D. Moore, and Evelyn Davis; brother: Virgil Davis.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Wayne and Cindy Wilson, Lynn and Ray Martin, Donna and Gary Bryant, Kaye and Mike Muccillo, Janice and Mark Anderson, Pam and Steve Conine, and Shane and Bobbie Jo Wilson; 15 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, July 12, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.  A graveside service will follow at 11 a.m., in Moody Memorial Gardens with Pastor Gordon Tippins officiating.
