Eugene Arthur Johnson, Sr.

Mr. Eugene Arthur Johnson, Sr, age 78, of Concord, passed away May 21, 2025.  Gene grew up in New Jersey, son of the late Clyde Enyart and the late Cornelia Marshall Enyart. Most of his life was spent in New Jersey. He moved to Concord 30 years ago to be near family.  Gene was a Tree Surgeon in both New Jersey and Georgia. He was a temperamental man but was also honest and unwavering in his convictions.  Despite hardships, the good in him is reflected in his grandchildren—values passed down through his son and now carried forward by them.

Gene was a Mopar Man and enjoyed watching NASCAR.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Kathleen "Kathy" Mohan Johnson, and his son William "Billy" Johnson.

He is survived by his son: Eugene Arthur "AJ" Johnson, Jr.; grandchildren: Lily, Morgan, Christopher, and Oliver; many friends and extended family members.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, 2 p.m., in Friendship Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 1004 Pedenville Road, Concord. Dr. Ron Johnson will officiate.
