Freddy Bishop

Mr. Freddy Eugene Bishop, age 70, of Jackson, passed away September 7, 2023, at his home.  He grew up in Barnesville, son of the late William Edward Bishop and the late Delores Fay Nelson Bishop. Freddy was a member of Rock Springs Church in Milner.  He worked on the grounds crew at Gordon College, Aldora Mills and Bishop Roofing for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and yardwork.  He was an excellent woodworker and liked to build things. Freddy was a devoted husband, father, and PawPaw.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters and a brother, Marie Maxwell, Billy Bishop and Betty Jean Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years:  Stacey Bishop; children:  April Hinton (Ian) of Williamson and Michael Bishop (Phelicia) of Barnesville; grandchildren: Jennifer Carter, Caleb White, Layna Hinton, Hunter Bishop, Knox Hinton and Jax Bishop; sister: Sandy Dobek of Jackson; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 3 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Taylor McKneely officiating.  Burial will follow in the Bishop-McLeod Family Cemetery in Barnesville.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the funeral home.
