Gail Wright

Mrs. Gail Hicks Wright, age 71, of Griffin, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 12, 2021.  She was born in New Orleans, LA, daughter of the late Sam Hicks, Sr. and Carolyn Loette Forrester Hicks.  Gail had a special gift of gathering loved ones together. She was always planning, coordinating and hosting moments so that her extended family could spend time together. She welcomed anyone and everyone into her home and treated them as if they had been a part of her family all along. Gail was a Girl Scout when she was young and later in life, after her granddaughters were born, she became a volunteer and a Scout leader. She enjoyed scrapbooking and genealogy research, but she especially loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Reneé Strantz.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years: Weymon "Skip" Wright; sons: Charles Wright (Whitney) of Lebanon, OR, Jayson Wright (Susan) of Zebulon and Joshua Wright (Amber) of Zebulon; grandchildren: Taylor Wright (Matt Poole), A. J. Wright, Amy Holt (T. J. Taylor), Matt Holt (Madelyn Crowell), Matthew Wright, Marrise Wright, Madalyn Wright, Destiny Wright, Jordan Wright, Kayla Cohn (Austin), Kristen Ashworth (Lee), Michael Johnson (Ashley), Joshua Johnson, Catlin Johnson; great-grandchildren: Layna Poole, Katie Pritchett, Chance Wright, Cam Cohn, Aubree Johnson, and Taylor Johnson; brother: Sam Hicks, Jr. (Marilyn) of McDonough; sister: Sharon Hicks of Naples, FL; nephew and niece: Andy Strantz (Christie) of Locust Grove, and Deana Bearden (Jason) of Decatur; great-nieces and great-nephews: Courtney Geiwitz (Zachary) and Michael White (Taylor), Adam Bearden, Ansley Bearden and Ava Bearden.

Gail was loved by many family and friends and will be greatly missed.
