September 22, 1969 - September 28, 2022

Mr. Owen "Rusty" Lester Boyd, age 53, of Thomaston, passed away September 28, 2022.  Rusty grew up in Griffin.  For most of his life he was a truck driver.  He liked hot rods and motorcycles. He was a geology enthusiast and enjoyed studying rocks.

He is survived by his wife: Anna Marie Boyd; daughter: Shiloh Boyd; mother: Glenda Wise; brother: Mark Boyd; sister: Debra Simpson; many nieces and nephews.

September 13, 1952 - October 24, 2022

Mrs. Glenda Joyce Mezick Wise, age 70, of Thomaston, passed away October 24, 2022, at Upson Regional Medical Center.  Glenda grew up in Griffin, daughter of the late Owen Mezick and the late Sallie Mary Frances Walls Mezick. She worked at Dundee Mills for many years. In her younger years, she liked to fish. Glenda enjoyed helping others and was supportive of the Wounded Warrior Project.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Owen Boyd, brothers, Larry Mezick and Terry Mezick and sister, Gaynell Gill.

She is survived by her son: Mark Boyd; her daughter: Debra Simpson; grandchildren: Jessica Rosier, Kimberly Maxwell, Curt Boyd, Shiloh Boyd, C. J. Simpson, Austin Simpson, Micheal Simpson and Taylor Daniel; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service for both Glenda and Rusty will be held on Tuesday, November 1, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.  Friends may visit with the family after the service.
