J. C. Gill

Mr. James Carlton "J. C." Gill, age 85, of The Rock, passed away January 27, 2022.  He grew up in The Rock, lived in Norcross for 52 years before moving back to the family farm at The Rock. He was a veteran of the United State Army, serving in the Korean War. J. C. worked as a master mechanic for several car dealerships. He enjoyed farming, fishing, playing the guitar and shooting pool.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Phillips Vinson, sisters, Sue and Edna, brothers, Tom, Allen and Buddy.

He is survived by his wife: Frances Gill; children: Ricky Davis, John Phillips, Kris Davis, Sheri Clayborn, Cathy Smith (Dwayne) Stephanie Bodine (Steve) Juanita Gill (Billy), and Cyndi Gill;  sisters: Betty Ruth, Margie, Marvel, Martha (Lamar); brother: Sammy (Carolyn); 22 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Saturday, February 5, 2022, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., at the funeral home.  Funeral services will follow at 12 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.

Following the service, there will be a gathering/meal at Mt. Gap Church.
