Jason Smith

Mr. Jason Dorton Smith, age 53, of Griffin, passed away January 29, 2024. Jason grew up in Griffin, was very athletic, and played Triple A Baseball.  He was a heavy equipment operator who worked hard all his life.  Jason was an avid GA Bulldog fan and enjoyed fishing.  He dearly loved spending time with his two boys and watching them participate in BMX races. Jason was kind-hearted and would give anybody the shirt off his back and do anything to make sure the people around him were happy. He was a loving father, friend, and son.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Wallace Smith, his brother Marty, and sister, Terrie Ann.

He is survived by his sons: Bailey Smith (Lani) and Parker Smith; a grandson due in March:   Jason Blaze Smith; father: Dorton Smith; sister: Maria Smith; and nephew: Jacob Pitts all of Griffin; many more nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, February 9, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
