Jean Barnett

Jean Avery Barnett, age 75, of Jackson, passed away November 24, 2022.  Jean was born in Atlanta, daughter of the late Monroe Avery and the late Annie Mae Hanes Avery.  She worked as an Administrative Assistant in the insurance and mortgage business for many years before retiring. Jean was crafty, she loved to gamble and take trips to casinos and to Perdido Key, Florida.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, James "Jim" Miles Barnett and George Roberts, brother, Buddy Avery, and sister, Ola Mae Dover.

She is survived by her sons: Mikel Roberts (Jennifer) of Tucson, AZ, Scott Roberts (Crystal) of Griffin and Jeff Roberts (Jennifer) of Concord; grandchildren: J.J., Tristan, Chase, Clint, Danny and Chloe; sister: Briness Kennedy of Jackson; brother: Bill Avery (Jackie) of Daphne, AL; brother-in-law: Carl Dover of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
