Jerry Foster

Mr. Alton Jerry Foster, age 81, of Williamson, passed away July 5, 2022.

Jerry was born on December 9, 1940, to the late Roy and Cleo Foster. He was wed to Grace Imogene "Geney" Foster in 1959. The couple has resided in Williamson since 1996. Jerry spent many years working as a mechanic, and he also worked for Knox Glass Company. He was a longtime carpenter and remodeler for JCPenney.

Jerry was a fan of drag racing and even drove race cars himself as a young man. He was a collector of knives and enjoyed old Western movies. Jerry was a lifelong fan of motorcycles. He would spend weekends taking road trips and long rides on his chopper. Most of all, Jerry loved his family. He was a wonderful husband, father, and PaPa.

Along with his parents, Jerry was preceded in death by his sons: Joel Vernon Foster and Mike Foster; brothers: John "Jiggs", Fred, Raymond, and Bob Foster.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years: Geney Foster of Williamson; daughter: Lisa (Johnnie) Cloud of Williamson; grandchildren: Christy (Michael) Reeves, James Moore, Jason (Meagan) Moore, Jesse (Maria) Cloud, Joshua (Tabitha) Foster, and Jenny (Mikael) Cloud; great-grandchildren: Bailey Reeves, Hannah Reeves, Aiden Cloud, Ralan Moore, Mikayla Moore, Leanna VanHorn, Liam Harris, Katherine Moore, Xander King, Haddie Moore, Maddie Moore, and Lilith Ragsdale; brothers and sister: William (Melissa) Foster, Jim (Janet) Foster, and Debra (Bob) Benda; sister and brother-in-love: Pauline and Lamar Majors; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Friday, July 8, 2022, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home, 10170 US 19, Zebulon, Georgia. Rev. Neal Hadaway will officiate.
