Jerry Roland

Mr. Jerry Dale Roland, age 76, of Griffin, passed away February 24, 2024, at his home.  He grew up in Bay, Arkansas, son of the late Carl and Flossie Roland.  Jerry served three years in the United States Army as a Sergeant. For much of that time he was stationed in Germany.  He was an avid Razorback fan and a self-taught tennis player.  He played for years with Stuart, Jim, and Mike.  The four were a team and nearly unbeatable.  Jerry enjoyed vegetable gardening.  He was an Agent for American General Insurance Company for 25 years before retiring and was presently employed with Liberty Bankers.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom and Kenneth and a sister Betty.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years: Glenda Roland; daughters:  Jodie Eaves of Concord and Sara Roland of Griffin. Jerry was PawPaw to seven grandchildren: Macie (Josh), Madison, Makayla, Micah, Maya, Maleia, and Corinne; four-great-grandchildren:  Brooks, Hendrix, Rahkim, and Emersyn; his brother: Wayne Roland; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 12:00 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with his nephew, Pastor Timothy Roland officiating.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
