Johnny Ray Blount, Sr.

Mr. Johnny Ray "Tommy" Blount, Sr., age 72, of Thomaston, passed away May 10, 2025, at his home.  Tommy grew up in the Piedmont Community, son of the late James E. Blount and Sarah Lou Gordy Blount.  He worked hard all his life and for 25 years he was a saw operator for Keadle Lumber in Thomaston. Tommy enjoyed fishing and floating the Flint River from the Bluff to the Bridge.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Richard, Robert and Betty.

He is survived by his son: Johnny "Jabo" Blount, Jr. (Cathy); grandson: Timothy J. Blount; great-grandchildren: Addie, Maddie, Lennon and Shanlee; many nieces and nephews.

It was Tommy's wish to be cremated, and a private family service will be held at a later date.
