Johnny Ray Corley

Mr. Johnny Ray Corley, of Meansville, passed away August 4, 2026. Born to the late Bobby Ray Corley and Dorothy Ann Long. Known for his tremendous heart, strong work ethic, and willingness to help anyone in need, Johnny would give the shirt off his back. Whether you were family, a lifelong friend, or a complete stranger, he was always willing to lend a helping hand.

Johnny was a hardworking man. Throughout his life, he worked in construction and carpentry and also owned and operated a carpet company. A true jack-of-all-trades, there was very little he couldn’t build, repair, or figure out. His family knew that if something around the house needed fixing, Johnny was the man to call.

Johnny also knew how to make people laugh. He had a smile that brought joy to everyone around him, never met a stranger, and loved joking around—sometimes a little too much. He was always looking for a way to make somebody laugh. Even during his final days, if he had awakened to find a nurse standing nearby, Johnny would have greeted them with a big “BOO!” just to scare them and get one more laugh.

Johnny was an all-around amazing man who loved deeply. He worked hard, helped others, and brought plenty of laughter along the way. He will never be forgotten, only missed. His family finds comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his loved ones.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his wife: Deborah Carolynn Mabrey Corley; son: Jordan Corley; brother: Jerry Lamar Corley “LL Cooljay”; and father-in-law: James Mabrey.

He is survived by his son: Jonathan Corley; daughter-in-law: Madison Cook; granddaughter: Jaycee Corley; sisters: Sandi Corley (Sammy Weaver) and Shirley Hovis; mother-in-law: Carol Mabrey; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

A celebration of life service will be held by the family at a later date.
