Joyce Bush

Mrs. Joyce Elaine Watts Bush, age 90 of Zebulon, passed away on September 3, 2024, at Brightmoor Assisted Living in Griffin.  Mrs. Bush grew up in Molena, daughter of the late Wilbur Watts and Lynda Atkinson Watts.  She graduated from Zebulon High School. Mrs. Bush was a long-time member of First Baptist Church in Zebulon. She was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family and friends and working in her yard. For several years she worked as a teacher's aid at Zebulon Learning Center.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Wilson Bush, her son, Barry Bush, brothers, Frank Watts, Donald Watts and Larry Watts, and sister, Reba Cox.

She is survived by her daughters: Rhonda Brannon (Eddie) of Meansville, Melanie Bishop (Tim) of Zebulon, and Lou Ann Higdon (Lee) of Zebulon; grandchildren: Brandon Flynn, Holli Adams (Jason), Brandi Baade (Matt), Abbi Gregg (Chris), Brianna Cliche, and Ashley Higdon; great-grandchildren: Darian, Brody, Evie, Olivia, Oliver, Callan, Theodore, Graham, Gabriella, Isaac, Joey, Sophie, Bryn, and Isabella; brothers: Jamie Watts (June) of Molena and Wayne Watts of Griffin; special friends: Barbara Thompson and Barbara Redding; many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bush's family would like to thank the staff at Brightmoor Assisted Living and Hospice for the kind and wonderful care they gave to her.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Rev. Keith Corley officiating.  Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, September 5, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
