Mrs. Kay Carden Bass, age 82, of Williamson, passed away July 2, 2024, at her home. Kay grew up in Griffin and graduated from Griffin High School in 1960. She attended Falls Business School in Atlanta and earned her associate's degree in business machines. She married Tony Bass on July 18, 1964. While he was serving in the United States Air Force, they traveled the world together, living wherever he was stationed. Kay was a people person, never met a stranger, and easily made friends. She was a homemaker but held a few office jobs through the years, was a kindergarten director and worked at Griffin Flower Shop.
For years, Kay was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church and Mt. Gilead Baptist Church and was currently a member of Berean Baptist Church. She had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing in the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Edwin Carden and Nonie Jones Carden and her son, Evan Bass.
She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years: Tony Bass; grandson: Tyler Bass; daughter-in-law: Jessica Bass; sister: Althea Nance (Robin); nephew and niece: John Nance (Kendra), and Jennifer Schmid (David); cousins: Melvin Graham, Kelvin Graham, Dwayne Graham, Michael Shivers and Verlene Byous and many more cousins; brother-in-law: John Phillip Bass (Deborah); sister-in-law: Nancy Stinchcomb (Lewis); and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor John Nance officiating. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
