Kenneth Nicholson

Mr. Kenneth Carl Nicholson, age 83, of Barnesville, passed away July 17, 2024. Kenneth grew up in the Barnesville and Yatesville areas, son of the late Dallas Carl "D. C." Nicholson, Jr.  and Frances Dawson Nicholson. He was a self-employed dump truck driver for Nicholson Trucking for many years. Kenneth enjoyed woodworking and singing.  He was a mild-mannered, kind, sweet and caring man who would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it.  In his later years, he enjoyed feeding and watching the squirrels and birds in his yard.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois McCullough Nicholson, and brother, Ernest Nicholson.

He is survived by his children: Gail Fountain (Jon) of Macon, Carla Baert of Dallas, Patricia Yearta (Matt) of Thomaston, Bubba Jordan (Kelli) of Thomaston, and Kitty Vaughn of Barnesville; grandchildren: Jessica, Racheal (Jimmy), Katie, Cody, Max (Kaylee), Bridgette (Ryan), Brook, Richard and Amanda; brothers and sisters: Thomas Nicholson (Donna) of Macon, Carol Silver (Alton) of Forsyth, Ann Faulkner (Jerry) Barnesville, Alvin Nicholson of Barnesville, and Elaine Owens (David) of Barnesville; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog: Brutus.

The family will follow Kenneth wishes to be cremated.  There will be no service at this time.  They will have a Celebration of Life at a later date and ask that in lieu of flowers, you bring a covered dish and join them in fellowship with family and friends at that time.
