Larry L. Shelton

Mr. Larry Leondias Shelton, age 81, of Hampton, met the Lord and was reunited with his Bride Rose Bud on April 17, 2022.

Larry was born in Atlanta, son of the late Andrew Leondias Shelton and Clessie Allene Harmon Shelton. He was an ordained minister and evangelist, faithfully serving for 45 years.  He enjoyed reading his Bible and traveling. Larry was an excellent photographer and visited numerous national parks to photograph waterfalls and mountains. He was a collector of Chapstick, flashlights, knives and swords and enjoyed eating Little Debbie Cakes, Mexican food with extra hot salsa, and drinking Diet Cokes. He was also an apartment supervisor and maintenance technician for 30 years. Larry was currently a member of New Life Assembly of God Church in Griffin.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Lee Flynn Shelton, son, Larry Russell (L. R. The Great) Shelton, brother, Billy Shelton.

He is survived by his children: Darlene Bunn, April Timbs (Ron), Angie Walker and Mark Shelton; grandchildren: Christy, Lee, Mindy, Matthew, Michael, Little Mark, Peyton, Devon, Cameron, and Carisma; great-grandchildren: Ashton, Avery, Kaleb, Harper, Sage and Anna-Marie; sisters: Patsy Skipper, Gail Black and Elaine Sanders; brother: Jeff Shelton (Deborah); many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Sunday, April 24, 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.  A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m., at New Life Assembly of God Church, 1630 Zebulon Rd, Griffin, GA 30224.
