Mae Willis

Linnie Mae Willis, of Hollonville, passed away peacefully at the hospital on May 6th at the age of 90. Mae was born in Sand Hill, Alabama, to Monroe and Nora Hicks. She met her love, Herbert H. Willis, Jr and they were married for almost 55 years.

She worked for many years for the Selective Service (Draft Board) in Pike, Lamar, and Fayette County until they closed, then she worked for several years in the Pike tax commissioner's office. She was active in the community and a member of Hollonville Baptist Church for many, many years. She enjoyed poetry, old hymns, reading, spending time with her family and pets which included her many cats and a select few favorite cows.

She was preceded in death by her parents Monroe Hicks and Nora Hicks, her husband Herbert H Willis Jr., her son Keith Willis, and her brother JW Hicks.

Linnie Mae is survived by her sons -  Rodney Willis (Debbie) and Bert Willis (Priscilla), her grandchildren Beth Burke (Will), Jennifer Bywaters (Jonathan), Stephanie Sexton (Will),  Shane Willis (Jennifer) and Jason Willis (Jessie), her great grandchildren Inman Burke, Grant Burke, Nathan Bywaters, Anna Bywaters, Kate Sexton, Parker Sexton, Sarah Willis and her sister, Katherine Hicks Grant.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 8, 2022, from 5 until 7 pm and a memorial service will be held on May 9 ^th , 2022, at 1 pm.  Both will take place at Moody-Daniel Funeral home.
