Marcus Franklin Clark, age 42, passed away on November 24, 2025. Marcus grew up in Lamar County and graduated from Lamar Comprehensive High School in 2001. He continued his education at Gordon State College in Barnesville, earning his associate's degree in business. He later transferred to Georgia State University in Atlanta, where he received his bachelor's degree in business administration. Marcus went on to further his education at Kennesaw State University, completing his master's degree in social services.
For many years, he worked as a mental health counselor, dedicating his career to helping others. He attended Open Arms Baptist Church. Marcus enjoyed trips to Panama City Beach and going to concerts. He was an avid Georgia Bulldogs and Atlanta Braves fan.
Marcus was preceded in death by his grandparents, E. T. Adams and Martha and James Clark, an aunt, Vanessa Clark and uncle, Randy Clark.
He is survived by his parents, Mark and Marcia Clark; sister and brother-in-law: Miranda and Jamie Purgason; nephew: Justin Purgason; grandmother: Jeanette Adams; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, November 28, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home and burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.
