Marie Lowry

Mrs. Marie Williams Lowry, age 76, of Hampton, passed away July 2, 2022, at Brightmoor Hospice.  Mrs. Lowry was born in Carrollton, GA, daughter of the late Lindsey Williams and Ruby Love Thomas Williams. She was a homemaker, and a wonderful baker who enjoyed feeding everyone.  She was a simple person, liked gospel music, and was a great mother and "Granny".  Mrs. Lowry was a long-time member of Moose Lodge #1503, Ladies of the Moose and Ladies of the VFW.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Otis Lowry, whom she married in 1969, her brothers, Walter Williams, Herbert Williams and James Williams, and her sister, Elsie Duffy.

She is survived by her children: Ronnie Lowry (Marnita) of Hampton, Sharon Gilmore (Dean) of Griffin, Duncan McFate (Christy) of SC, Arthur McFate (Shannon) of LA and Jerry Gosnell of AL; brothers: Oscar Williams and James Williams; sisters: Mary Gilmer, and Betty Thomas; many grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, at 1 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Moody Memorial Gardens.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, July 6, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the funeral home.
