Marie Thompson-Sanders

Marie Thompson-Sanders, age 45, went to be with her dad in heaven on Wednesday, July 12, 2023. She was preceded in death by her father, Johnnie Thompson.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Sanders; children, Kyla Mendoza (John), Jarrett Anderson, Dean Sanders (Aaliyah) and Summer Sanders; grandchildren-Riley Crawford, Alana, Jeremiah, Emily and Bryson Thompson, and future grandson Daxton Sanders; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenny and Jane Sanders.

Marie was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and mentor to many. She never met a stranger and had so much passion for the communities around her. Marie was the founder of and was passionate about NOFA (No One Fights Alone). Mark and Marie are the founders of Black Smoke Coffee in Orchard Hill.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to NOFA at Marie's service or at Black Smoke Coffee.

The service for Marie will be Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at 11:00 am in the main sanctuary of Rock Springs Church, there will be no public visitation. A private burial will follow the service, family only.
