Maxine Ard

Mrs. Maxine Andrae McKee Ard, age 84, of Zebulon, passed away March 14, 2025.  Maxine grew up in Atlanta and also lived in Florida and Texas before moving to Georgia. She lived in Jonesboro and Stockbridge before settling in Zebulon.  Maxine worked for the Housing and Urban Development Department of the Office of Personnel Management, retiring after 30 years. She was a great cook and enjoyed playing Canasta and watching the Atlanta Braves on TV. Maxine was a faithful member of the Pike County Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronald Earl Ard, Sr. and her parents, Leon McKee and Ozella Pilgrim McKee.

She is survived by her five sons: Tony Ard, Mark Ard (Lisa), Scott Ard (Stacy), Gary Ard and Ronald Ard, Jr.; grandchildren: Amber, Ashley, Anna, Alyson, Stephanie, Andrew, Amanda, Melissa, Cody, Dalton, Brittany, Adam and Tiffany; several great-grandchildren; sister: Wylene Bell; nephew and niece: Jeff and Jennifer.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Simon officiating.
