Patricia Pendley

Mrs. Patricia Mae Pilkenton Pendley, age 83, of Zebulon, passed away June 18, 2025, at her home.  Patricia grew up in Molena, daughter of the late John Robert Pilkenton and Mamie Mae Boyd Pilkenton.

When her daughter, Jennifer, was young, Patricia owned a children's shop in Fayetteville. Nothing gave her more joy than to take her sister, Mary Frances, with her to the Merchandise Mart to buy sample clothes for her daughter Jennifer and her sister Mary Frances' grandsons Alan and Brian.

Patricia enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for animals, especially her beloved dog Mojo. She was one who always kept the bird feeders full and the hanging baskets fresh.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband David Morris Pendley, daughter Jennifer Lynn Pendley, brothers Robert Monroe Pilkenton, William James Pilkenton, sisters Mary Frances Pilkenton Rappold and Peggy Ann Pilkenton.

She is survived by her sister-in-law: Mary Baker Pilkenton; nieces: Carol Gail Pilkenton, Mary Rappold Kaplan and Sara Rappold Angeletti; nephews: Robert Pilkenton, Jr. and Charles Joseph Rappold; several great nieces and nephews.

A service celebrating Patricia's life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 2 p.m., in Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 1177 Highway 109, Molena. Pastor Mark Harris will officiate.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the Church.
