Patti Byars

On August 3, 1941, Patti Joyce Wilson, was born to Golmer Catherine Wilson and BJ Wilson of Jonesboro Georgia. Patti passed from this world on Monday, September 29th, 2025 in St Petersburg, Florida. She married Harry B. Byars Jr on June 7, 1963.

She is survived by her two children, Todd W. Byars (Sandy), Jennifer Paige Byars, and one grandchild Katherine Elizabeth Falvey. Patti is also survived by her Brother Buron "Jed" Wilson (Brenda).

Patti graduated from UGA in 1963. She was a member of the Georgia Redcoat Band. After getting her degree, Patti was a public school teacher in the elementary and middle schools of the Fulton County School System, including the summer programs. In the College of Education, at several Universities, Patti was a Supervisor of Intern Teachers and Evaluations. Over the decades, Patti supervised over 200 student teachers. While at Florida State University as an intern supervisor, Patti established a scholarship for single mothers to fund their "student teaching" semester.

Patti W. Byars was interred at Camp Memorial Park on 10/7/2025 next to her Husband, Harry B. Byars, after a private family service in the family plot in Fayetteville, Georgia, USA.
