Mr. Albert Randolph "Randy" Martin, Jr. age 87, of Williamson, passed away July 4, 2025. Randy was born in Washington DC, son of the late Albert Randolph Martin, Sr. and Gladys Roberts Martin. Randy was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force where he served for 26 years, retiring as a Chief. He then took a job as an accident investigator with the Federal Aviation Administrator where he worked for 18 years before retiring again. Randy was a licensed pilot and certified aircraft mechanic.
Many years ago, Randy meticulously restored a 1942 Willy's Jeep. He and Darlene would dress in 1940s attire and proudly participate in parades. He also served his community as a dedicated volunteer firefighter and a member of American Legion Post #197 in Zebulon.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Judy.
He is survived by his wife: Darlene Martin; children: David Martin (Denise), Monica, Wayne, Lauren Holder (Drew) and Melanie Williamson (Timothy); nine grandchildren; and a sister: Joan Redd.
Randy was known for saying, 'Plain Perfect Puddin', a phrase that perfectly captured his warm, down-to-earth spirit and love for the simple joys in life.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the funeral home, with a "last call" held at 5:30 p.m. in honor of Randy.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Pike County Fire Department. Please make checks to PVESBO (Pike Volunteer Emergency Services Booster Organization), 2227 Drew Allen Road, Williamson, GA 30292, in honor of Randy.
