Robert "Rabbit" E. Townsend

Mr. Robert Erskin "Rabbit" Townsend, age 70, of Meansville, passed away September 25, 2022.

Rabbit was born on December 23, 1951, to the late Robert Lee Townsend and the late Lillian Drake Townsend. He was a lifelong resident of Meansville. He was a born again Christian and attended Pine Mountain Church throughout his life. In his younger years, Rabbit worked as a painter and roofer. Rabbit was a good and giving person. He enjoyed helping people and he had a heart for animals.

Along with his parents, Rabbit was preceded in death by his infant twin brother, Raymond Lee Townsend, brother, Harvey Lee Townsend, and sisters, Margie Ree Webb and Mary Inez Dorsey.

He is survived by his sisters: Frances Reese of Meansville and Dorothy Brown of Fayetteville; brothers and sisters-in-law: Bobby Lee and Brenda Townsend, Aldean and Ellen Townsend, all of Thomaston; many nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 PM Thursday, September 29 ^th at Pine Mountain Nazarene Church Cemetery in Meansville. Pastor Eric Boomer will be officiating. Friends may visit the family between 5 PM and 7 PM on Wednesday, September 28 ^th at Moody-Daniel Funeral Home.
