Mr. Williams was born in Atlanta, GA on April 30, 1936, and had also resided in Mableton, GA, Griffin, GA and Peachtree City, GA. He was born to Robert F. Williams and Nellie Mae Pelfrey.
Robert was an Army Veteran having served as a Specialist Four from 1957-1963 beginning his basic training at Ft. Benning, GA and later based in Germany. Following the Army, Robert briefly worked for Whitley Concrete Company and then worked for Louis Dreyfus Corp.-Southeast Terminals retiring in 1997 after 30 years of service.
Robert was a follower of Jesus Christ and he was a faithful member of Rock Springs Church until his illness began four years ago. Robert enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the beach or just hiking on day trips. He and his wife had visited all 50 states and had also enjoyed several cruises. His children, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren brought such joy to his life, especially during his own times of health troubles. He was a strong fighter and overcame many struggles.
The family would like to thank the staff of the assisted living center he called “home” over the past four years. Legacy Ridge at Peachtree/Pruitt Place Peachtree City provided such good care during his time there. He considered his time there as a ministry and was very loved by his neighboring residents and staff alike.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Williams Absher. Mr. Williams was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Tiney Nell Bryant Williams in 2020 after 60 years of marriage.
