Mr. Rollyn Travis Armstrong, age 57, of Locust Grove, passed away April 29, 2026. Rollyn was born in Dublin and grew up in Decatur. His greatest love was Jesus and his family. He loved them deeply, especially his wife, two daughters and his grandchildren, who meant the world to him. He loved serving every Sunday at Christ Chapel, Zebulon.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Gwyne Armstrong.
He is survived by his wife: Carole Armstrong; daughters: Brittany Hammond (Casey) and Heather McElwaney (Travis); grandchildren: Hailey Hammond, Hunter Hammond, Mason Mudd, Maci Mudd, Maddox Mudd, Caroline Hammond, Emma McElwaney, and Elaina McElwaney; brother: Stanton Armstrong (Sharon); cousin: Lindy Start; uncle and aunt: Lowery and Vickie Robinson; several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
For the past 25 years, he was a dedicated employee at Nextran Truck Centers in Union City, a job he truly loved. To Rollyn, his workplace was more than just a job, it was a second home, and his co-workers were like family.
Rollyn was known as "Mr. Fix-It" and a true "Yes Man." He could build, repair, and figure out anything. He was meticulous, organized and always willing to lend a helping hand. His kindness and generosity were constant throughout his life, and he never missed an opportunity to help someone in need.
In his free time, Rollyn enjoyed building model cars, watching NASCAR races, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. He also had a sweet tooth, with a fondness for Little Debbie snack cakes and Starburst jellybeans.
A Celebration of Life for Rollyn will be held on Monday, May 4, 2026, at 1 p.m., in Christ Chapel, 68 Old Zebulon Rd., Zebulon. Pastor Billy Smith will officiate.
Friends may visit the family on Monday, from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m., at the church.
