Mr. Ronald "Ron" Anthony DelNero, age 76, of Jasper, passed away June 29, 2024. Ron grew up in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Daniel DelNero, Gladys Sheftic Pugh and stepfather Earl Pugh. Ron was a proud and devoted United States Marine, enlisting the day before his 18th birthday. Before the age of 20, Ron became a recipient of the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in combat during the Vietnam War.
A man of many skills, he mastered several occupations such as the owner of Meatballs Deli in GA; Private Detective in the Metro Atlanta area; and Finance Manager at Sutherlin Nissan in Lithia Springs, GA, to name a few.
Ron was a faithful benefactor of Our Lady of the Mountain of Jasper Georgia. He found pride in volunteering for the Cobb County Sheriff's Department. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and photography. He had a vast sense of humor and a passion for animals.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years: Rachel DelNero; daughter: Brittney DelNero and daughter-in-law Tedi Davidson of Ft. Eisenhower, GA; sister: Connie Venable of Roanoke, Virginia; stepson: Matthew Peaslee of Smyrna, GA, and grandson:Caiden DelNero of Ft. Eisenhower, GA.
A Celebration of Life service will be held July 16th at 12:30pm at the Georgia National Cemetery at 1080 Scott Hudgens Dr., Canton, GA 30114.
