Ronnie Mcchargue

Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Sanford McChargue, Sr., age 85, of Thomaston, passed away February 9, 2024.  He grew up in Thomaston, son of the late Britt McChargue and Ann Walker McChargue.

Ronnie was as auto mechanic for most of his life. He began working with his dad at Britt's Garage and then around 1979-80, he opened his own shop, Ronnie's Auto Service on Jeff Davis Road in Thomaston. He enjoyed restoring old cars, building cabinets, woodworking, gardening, and canning.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Johnson McChargue, grandchildren, Toni McChargue and Keith McChargue, and his brother, Freddie McChargue.

He is survived by his sons: Allen McChargue (Lisa) of Thomaston, Jeff McChargue (Mary Ann) of Milner and Ronald "Rock" McChargue (Lisa) of Thomaston; grandchildren: Daniel McChargue (Beth) , Christopher McChargue, Heather McGinnis (Robin), Zack McChargue (Nancy) and Caleb McChargue (Ashley); sister: Mary Ann Brown (Floyd) of Jonesboro; 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A private family service will be held at a later date.
