Ronnie Thompson

Mr. Ronald "Ronnie" Herbert Thompson, age 79, of Williamson, passed away February 10, 2024.  He was born in Griffin, son of the late James Edgar Thompson and Katie Renfroe Thompson.  Ronnie was a heavy equipment operator working in the grading and clearing business. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, fishing, and hunting.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Erline Lawson.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years:  Judy Thompson; children: April Byrd (Ron) and Blake Thompson (Jennifer Lifsey) all of Meansville; grandchildren: Savannah Byrd (Brandon Beasley), McKenzie Byrd, Jordan Thompson (Kas Burris), Brooke Ramos (Ish Ramos), Kyle Thompson, and Raegan Thompson; great-grandchildren: Tucker Thompson, Hadley Ramos, Milan Ramos and Huxley Thompson; sister: Sarah Gunter (Charles); several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Tuesday, February 13, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Moody-Daniel Funeral Home with Pastor Al Shackelford and Pastor Mark Dix officiating.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m., at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, in memory of Ronnie Thompson.
